The first race ended with John literally pushing his car over the finish line after the engine let go on the back straight during the last lap!John managed to free wheel all the way round to the finish line and was cheered on by the spectators to get out and push it over the line, which he did!

Heat 2 of the day saw John in an unfortunate accident, rolling his car and with many people expecting his day to end there. Luckily John walked away from the accident and soon set to work fixing the car. The comradery of the Legends paddock was shown as other teams jumped on board to help get the #3 car back out for the final race of the day! With some fantastic repairing skills and many hands working together the car was ready to race again. Unfortunately it did not last the entire race and landed John with 3 DNF’s.

To end the day the #3 Team received an award for Team of the day due to perseverance, determination and the teams’ ability to get the car out for each race.paterson mechanics 3paterson mechanics
