Legends Cars Championship racing will have a new home in the UK from 2024 after it was today confirmed the all-action pocket rockets have joined the MotorSport Vision Racing family, ahead of the category’s landmark 30th anniversary season.

Marking an exciting new dawn for the Legends Cars, the 5/8 scale racers – powered by 1250cc Yamaha motorcycle engines, with bodystyles based on 1930s Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge cars from the USA – have been thrilling racegoers in the UK since the 1990s.

Now, the Legends Cars have joined MSVR’s burgeoning portfolio of championships in a move which will further elevate the growing presence of the hugely popular Legends. Of course, championship organisers have already confirmed the Legends Cars will again compete at three British Touring Car Championship events in 2024.

Arguably one of the most entertaining and action-packed styles of racing anywhere in the world, the unique offering provided by Legends Cars is destined to be a major success in partnership with MSVR which has built a superb reputation for event organisation.

MSVR will now take full responsibility for organising the Legends Cars Championship’s annual calendar, which for 2024 includes the aforementioned BTCC events – visits to Donington Park, Brands Hatch and Knockhill. Legends Cars are also set to receive star billing at other promoted events at MSV venues, further boosting the profile for competitors and sponsors.

Championship competitors will benefit from MSVR’s excellent professionalism and standing within UK motorsport, expanding on the pre-existing relationship which has seen Legends appear at the MSVR-run American SpeedFest at Brands Hatch for many years. As part of the 2024 calendar, Legends are set to appear at the Brands SpeedFest and another American festival at Snetterton.

Joe East – MSVR Commercial and Competitions Manager:
“I’m delighted to welcome the Legends Cars Championship family, headed up by Phil Cooper, to MSVR from 2024. Legends is an excellent series, known for its crowd-pleasing on-circuit battles, which has been a popular addition to selected MSVR events, most notably American SpeedFest, in the past. We’re hugely excited to welcome the Championship and its competitors to MSVR full-time, and we’re looking forward to a bright future.”

Phil Cooper – Legends Cars Championship Owner:
“Next year is an incredibly important one for our much-loved Legends Cars Championship, our 30th anniversary season in the UK, so what better time to embark on this incredibly exciting move to join the fantastic stable of championships organised by MSVR. The professionalism offered by MSVR is second to none, so we’re all relishing this new partnership as Legends Cars move into a new era. After an outstanding 2023, with the new Legends Cars Elite Cup at the BTCC events and a thrilling battle in the overall Championship, we cannot wait to see what 2024 brings with MSVR.”

Simon Belcher – Legends Cars Championship Co-Director:
“The 2024 season is just around the corner which marks 30 years of Legends Cars in the UK, providing the amazing bumper-to-bumper action everybody loves. It is great to start working with MSVR in our anniversary year, we’re very much looking forward to it, and also headlining promoted events with them around the country – alongside the three events we have already announced supporting the British Touring Car Championship. It certainly looks like a year for us to celebrate and for the fans and drivers to enjoy.”
