Legends Cars’ new Elite Cup series, which forms part of three high-profile British Touring Car Championship events this year, has received a welcome boost with the confirmation JLM Lubricants will sponsor the category’s television coverage and become the exclusive race fuel cleansing additive supplier.
As part of the BTCC support package for the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit, Croft and Knockhill race weekends, taking place between May and August, the newly branded Legends Cars Elite Cup with JLM will benefit from incredible, enviable live exposure on ITV4 and the www.itv.com/btcc website.
Set to be contested across 18 races in front of some of the UK’s biggest motorsport crowds, the Elite Cup already has a fantastic entry of well over 20 drivers registered – with more to come. Included in the entry so far are reigning Legends Cars Champion Miles Rudman (Sutton Coldfield), Vice-Champion Will Gibson (Camberley) and five-time former champion John Mickel (Horsham).
JLM Lubricants, established in The Netherlands in 2010, designs, develops and manufactures a vast range of premium products including fuel additives and technical lubricants which are utilised across the world by professional motor mechanics and widely too within the motorsport arena.
Prominent in over 45 countries globally, JLM is a specialist in top flight petrol, diesel and LPG additives and now brings its expertise to the fuel utilised in the Legends Cars Elite Cup, which is provided by long-time supplier Carless.
The agreements have been brokered by long-standing Legends competitor Mike Schlup (Cuckfield), the UK distributor for JLM Lubricants through his Kalimex Ltd business. Schlup and his son Oli, one of the star rookies from last season’s Legends Cars Championship, will both be on the Elite Cup grid and battling hard in front of tens of thousands of fans trackside and hundreds of thousands more on TV.
