Three-time, and reigning, Legends Cars Champion Miles Rudman (Sutton Coldfield) will mount a bid for the newly created Legends Cars Elite Cup this season, having today confirmed he will race a First 4 Vans entered Se-Van in the exciting British Touring Car Championship support series.

Switching from the Legend Ford Coupe with which he won the 2019, 2021 and 2022 Legends Cars Championship crowns, Rudman will now embark on a fresh challenge after joining the squad headed by category mainstay, and new team-mate, Nathan Anthony (Horley).

The Elite Cup, which will be contested across three of the country’s biggest race meetings on the BTCC package, is already shaping up to be an incredibly competitive and hotly contested series. The addition of Rudman, of course, only adds to the early excitement for the 18-race campaign.

Starting at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit in Kent over the weekend 6th/7th May, the Elite Cup will then continue at Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire on 29th/30th July before reaching its conclusion at Knockhill Circuit in Scotland over the weekend 12th/13th August.

Live television coverage from all three Elite Cup race meetings will be screened on ITV4, with the addition of live streaming online at the www.itv.com/btcc website. Commentary for the Elite Cup rounds will come courtesy of legendary broadcaster Richard John Neil, well known to Legends Cars fans as the voice of the category’s racing over many years.

Rudman’s first taste of the No.1 plated Se-Van he will pilot in the Elite Cup came this morning, Tuesday, 7th March, in testing at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit where he was joined by First 4 Vans owner Anthony.

Miles Rudman:
“I wasn’t planning to come back this year, I’d sold everything and then I saw the Elite Cup BTCC events announced! I’d mentioned to Nathan about driving one of his vans a while ago, then we had a couple of messages between us and here we are!

“It’s going to be a completely new challenge for me in the Se-Van but my main ambition is to get Nathan a win. He’s given me a fantastic opportunity to race on the touring car package, I’m very thankful to Nathan and I really hope we can deliver a great season.”

Nathan Anthony:
“I’m absolutely delighted we’ve been able to put something together for Miles to run with us in the new Elite Cup. Everyone at First 4 Vans is buzzing, we can’t wait for the season to start. This is a huge year for Legends Cars, racing at three of the British Touring Car Championship events is massive and the exposure will be incredible.

“We’ve built Miles a brand new Se-Van and he’s also going to be helping us out with a bit of driver coaching, so I’m hoping I can learn a thing or two from the champion! It should be an incredible season, he’s a quality driver with a phenomenal record, so hopefully we can mount a big challenge.”

Phil Cooper – Legends Cars Championship Owner:
“We didn’t know if Miles would be back this year, so we’re delighted he has put a deal together with Nathan and his team to race in the Elite Cup. Nathan has been such a strong supporter of Legends Cars for so many years now, an integral part of the championship, so to have the reigning Legends Cars Champion alongside him in the First 4 Vans squad is a real coup. Yet more fantastic news!”
