Drivers from the all-action Legends Cars National Championship with MRF Tyres will be proudly flying the flag for the category during two major summer festivals over the coming weeks – the massively popular ‘CarFest’ events founded by radio DJ Chris Evans.

CarFest North, held at Bolesworth Castle in Cheshire, will take place between Friday, 26th July, and Sunday, 28th July, while CarFest South at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire will follow a month later, from Friday, 23rd August, to Sunday 25th August.

First established by celebrity Chris Evans seven years ago, CarFest is the UK’s largest fundraising festival and, to date, has raised more than £13.5 million for children’s charities such as BBC Children In Need, Starlight, Ellen Macarthur Cancer Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust and Rainbow Trust.

For the first time, this year’s CarFest events will feature some of the cars and stars of the Legends series which, of course, is celebrating its 25th anniversary season this year and is currently midway through a summer break ahead of the visit to Donington Park in August.

Confirmed to attend next week’s CarFest North event are 2019 race winner James Hall-Morton (Cleckheaton), first year Legends Cars National Championship racer Matt Rainbow (Gnosall) and Scottish Legends competitors Jon Critchlow (Northwich) and Andrew Donald from Knockhill Circuit.

Rainbow will also appear at CarFest South and will be joined by Legends Cars mainstay Nathan Anthony (Horley), driver of the only Se-Van in Legends Cars racing, multiple race winner Sy Harraway (Weston-super-Mare), and preparation expert Matt Roach (Rayleigh).

CarFest is very much a unique event which attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year, over 100,000 in total across the North and South festivals combined. With an eclectic blend of road and race cars, live music, fantastic food and a wide variety of family activities, the CarFest weekends have become the perfect place to enjoy a fabulous time while helping to raise funds for charity.

Commenting on Legends Cars’ involvement in CarFest, National Championship owner Phil Cooper said: “We’re delighted to be involved with both CarFest events for the first time this year and really looking forward to giving the visitors a close-up look at what Legends Cars racing is all about, and hopefully gaining some new fans in the process!

“Our current Vice-Champion Steve Whitelegg introduced me to CarFest, saying what wonderful events they are, so a big thank you to him. We’re very proud to be part of both the North and South festivals, especially in our 25th anniversary season.”

Cooper added: “The organisers behind CarFest do a wonderful job, not least for the many children’s charities they support, and the events really are wonderful occasions for the whole family – a true celebration of motoring and motorsport in a real festival atmosphere. I must thank the competitors who have chosen to take part and help fly the flag for Legends, I know they’ll have a fantastic time.”
